This weekend is the weekend. Two whole days to dedicate to what you like the most: immerse yourself in the history of music through documentaries such as Shine a light or Mi vida entre hormigas.

BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB

A classic and cinephile delight. Wim Wenders joins Ry Cooder and the Cuban musicians. The moment of the concert in New York and his walk through the city is charged with emotion and is just one of the great moments of this documentary. The true protagonists? The musicians who collaborated on the Buena Vista Social Club album, known as the “super grandparents”.

A classic rock icon recounting the comings and goings of one of the most mythical Spanish bands on the music scene, Los Ilegales. A very particular vision through the eyes of its leader. Put it on your list for this weekend!

SHINE A LIGHT

The Rolling Stones and Martin Scorsese. This couple makes, although it is not the top 1 of the musical documentaries, it is worth taking a look. The Oscar-winning director filmed the band at two concerts held at the Beacon Theater in New York. To this are added images of reharsals and interviews. If you are a Rolling fan, you already know what to do!

MOZ AND I

A retrospective of the national indie. This documentary starts from the story of a Morrissey fan who becomes a DJ. From there a good review is given of the best indie years of the nineties in Barcelona. Groups that started at that time as Sidonie participate.

THE SECOND ACT OF ELLIOTT MURPHY

RIP UP THE ROAD

This documentary goes on tour with Foals, one of the most admired British bands in recent years. The film centers on two of the most important concerts of the group’s career at London’s Alexandra Palace. In addition, Rip Up The Road was released as a four track EP recorded live.
